Results are highly accurate when you enter real figures. The calculator uses Amazon's published fee structure for the marketplace you select, starting with Amazon US. For best accuracy, use your real product cost, actual shipping costs, and a realistic ad spend (ACoS) based on your category benchmarks. The default values shown are illustrative examples to help you get started.
General benchmarks for Amazon FBA sellers, after referral fees, fulfillment costs, ad spend, and returns:
- 25 percent and above - Strong. You have room to scale, invest in ads, and handle price competition comfortably.
- 15 to 25 percent - Acceptable. Review your cost structure and ad efficiency regularly.
- Below 15 percent - Risky. A price war or fee change could push you into losses. Reduce COGS first.
ROI (Return on Investment) tells you how much profit you earn per dollar invested in sourcing and shipping the product. For example, an ROI of 50 percent means for every $100 you invest in product and shipping, you get $50 back as profit. Target a minimum of 30 percent ROI to account for cash cycle times and reinvestment needs. Higher ROI products compound your capital faster as you scale.
